Hello World!
When I started this blog I was pregnant with my fourth baby girl Logan and was about to start the transition of becoming a stay at home mom. I had high hopes of this new life and was excited to “journal” it. Well, life hit me hard and it’s laughable now what I envisioned being a stay at home mom with an infant who needs nursing every 2 hours, an active toddler, running two kids to school and all their extra curricular actives, and the normal upkeep of running a home. Maybe it was bad time management on my part but making time to blog was on the bottom of my list.
Fast forward to present day and it’s “Corona Time”. Like most of America our schools are closed, my husband’s job is shutdown, and we’re social distancing ourselves from the world. It’s now been the fourth week and we’re just now finding our flow of “homeschool” and some kind of normalcy. I’m an introverted person and though I love a house filled with laughter and delicious smells coming from the kitchen, it’s not a matter of me wanting or liking quiet time for myself, I NEED it.
Having a moment away from everyone so I can recharge is what I have learned helps me be a better wife and mom. Now that my husband and kids are home with me 24/7 and there is no Grandma’s house, school, or work that they can go to, I started feeling overwhelmed quickly. My husband and I figured out that we need to give each other 1 to 2 hours a day of alone time without kid interruption. Having quiet time helps me seek God in all of this chaos and reminds me of the good in the world. It’s only been a week and my mood has improved tremendously. Here’s some things that I’ve been doing with my quiet time and would love to know what’s been keeping you from having cabin fever.
